SOA of NY/Yonkers Raceway John R. Brennan Scholarship application is now available
Attention students! John R. Brennan Scholarship application is now open until Friday, May 29.
The SOA of NY is pleased to announce that the 2026 SOA of NY/Yonkers Raceway John R. Brennan Scholarship application and rules are now available. Application deadline is Friday, May 29, 2026.
Great news students! The Board of Directors in December decided to increase the total awards from $18,000 to $23,000 and to add an additional winner (fourth place).
The Scholarship awards are $11,000 first place, $6,000 second place, $4,000 third place and $2,000 for fourth place. The Scholarship applicant or his/her immediate family member must be a 2026 SOA of NY member in good standing, or the applicant can be an immediate family member of a backstretch employee (caretaker). Immediate family member means spouse or child.
